This is a rare version of the Bulova Officer wristwatch from 1943 due to it being a black dial, as the white dial is more common for this watch. In all black and gold, this vintage wristwatch is gorgeous and very eye-catching. The black dial is in in good condition, showing a light patina, and a lovely shiny finish. The Breguet numerals still retain a slight amount of their original radium, emitting only a very fair glow, while the syringe-style gold hands are still highly luminous- they glow very brightly! The minute track and sub-second track are gold, and the sub-second hand is stick-style with a lollipop end. The dial is signed BULOVA, and below 6 o'clock, SS from SWISS remains.
The 25.4 x 28.7mm tonneau case has a beautiful 10K rolled gold plate bezel and lugs, while the case back is stainless steel. The glass crystal is likely the original, and it does show a small scratch just below 11 o'clock. It comes on a black leather two-piece strap with gold buckle.
The Swiss movement is caliber 10BS with 15 jewels and has a 45-hour power reserve. It is a great timekeeper.
